13 Jan How to Make 2020 a Happy New Year for You and Your Business
So, the parties are over, and you’ve enjoyed the time with family and friends. Perhaps you have looked back over the past year, reviewing the things that worked and didn’t work for you and your business.
Then January arrives and it is straight back in. Don’t despair if you’re feeling sluggish and unmotivated, you’re not alone.
Probably the last thing you need now is to read another ‘new year new you’ blog, so we’re not going to write one, instead we’ll simply let you know what works for us, as we enter another business year full of opportunities and challenges.
Don’t dwell on the things that didn’t quite work out last year, start looking forward to the new year rather than back on the past one. Treat the goals you want to accomplish as new challenges and a source of energy not a penance for things you didn’t get done last year.
Your reflections on the past year might lead you to commit to making changes. This is usually a good thing but not if your commitments are abstract, like “be more productive,” “get a new client,” or “become a better networker.” Abstract goals can lead to paralysis.
Turn your goal into specific actions, for example last year we decided we wanted to improve our referral networking capability, so one of our most effective specific actions was to join our local NetworkIN group. We liked it so much we are now the Principals of NetworkIN Cheshire.
This has given our referral marketing a real boost in a friendly, informal, yet focussed way.

One reason people often fail to achieve important goals is that they cannot find the time to perform the tasks that could lead to success.
Is your business growing as fast as you’d like it to?
Do you feel frustrated by the massive list of things you want to achieve but never have time for?
Are you being held back by daily firefighting?
Your business has huge potential if only you could find the time to work on it instead of in it.
No one wants to start the new year off in a rut. And yet many of us begin January too focused on the past and feeling bad about what we have yet to accomplish. With some small changes in your perspective, you can hit the ground running in 2020.
Your business should help you have a better life, not take over it completely!
We help our clients to enjoy a day off every week, to have the money to book a holiday, or to simply go for a stress-free walk.
